No fairness: Coach Basigi hits out at referees for poor officiating


Yusif Basigi believes referees are the reasons for the sack of coaches in the First Capital Plus Premier League due to their bias decisions on the field.

The Hasaacas coach, who doubles as the coach of the Black Queens has voiced out his frustration over referees actions that sometimes change the dynamics of matches on the local scene.

He lashed out at referees for their perceived general poor performance in the GPL, following his side’s one all draw against Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

‘The Giant of the West’ were left with great anger after match official Solomon Mordey refused to award them a penalty at against Hearts of Oak and overlooked several decisions during the game.

‘Some coaches go into games with good strategy, but due to poor refereeing decisions, they end up on the losing side.

‘Referees are the reasons for the sack of many coaches in the league,’ Yusif Basigi said.

Hasaacas are 8 on the league log after 10 games, with 4 wins, 4 defeats and 2 draws.
