Players of the Black Stars will be able to pick up their Jeep Cherokees from next week according to the Ghana Football Association.
The cars,gifts from a private car dealership,Tanink Ghana to the team after their second place finish at the AFCON in Equatorial Guinea had raised public outcry over the continued lavishing of cash and gifts on the senior national team.
There were also reports that government had purchased the vehicles for the players through the company to avoid a public backlash.
The 30 vehicles will be given to each member of the playing body with the remaining seven to be decided upon by the GFA.
“The cars are available and the players have been asked to complete power of attorney to their families” revealed Kwasi Nyantakyi,the president of the association.
