GOAL: Kwesi Appiah scores in Crystal Palace triumph

Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah scored his first goal for Crystal Palace U21s since returning to the club from Cambridge United on loan this year.

Crystal Palace U21s cruised to a 4-0 victory against Cardiff City U21s on Monday afternoon at the Tooting and Mitcham’s KNK Stadium.

Kyle de Silva was on the scoresheet twice, while Kwesi Appiah and Jake Gray also helped themselves to a goal each as Gary Issott’s side put in a good display.

It was a great start for Palace as Kyde de Silva gave them an early lead, and Appiah went close to putting Palace 2-0 up when he picked up a loose ball, raced through the middle and away from the last defender before forcing an excellent save from Wilson.

Appiah finally got his name on the score sheet finishing off a good ball from Garvan’s pass, before Jake Gray got in on the act when his fierce drive on the right side of the box took a slight deflection on its way in.

Another Ghanaian youngster, Hiram Boateng, played full duration of the game.

The win lifts the young Eagles into second of the U21 Development League 2.
