Fire has gutted parts of the Tamale Central Market Monday morning.
Joy News’ Northern Region correspondent Hashmin Mohammed, who was at the scene of the fire, reported that the fire occurred around 5:45 am.
Three stores were affected by the fire.
Properties, including toiletries and groceries, running into thousands of Ghana cedis, were burnt.
Northern regional Chief Fire Officer, Douglas Kuyira told Joy News that they have begun investigations into the cause of the fire but they suspect faulty electrical wiring in the market.
According to the fire officer, no casualties have been recorded.
