Not high enough: Augsburg turn down Atletico Madrid’s 10m for Rahman

Atletico Madrid have had an initial bid of 10million Euros rejected for Ghana and Augsburg left back, Baba Rahman rejected understands.

The 21 year old has caught the eyes of a host of clubs after an impressive season with the Bundesliga side who currently lie sixth in the league due to the impressive contributions of the Ghanaian and Atletico were the first to make a move on their interest.

Allsports understands Augsburg is holding out for more with a bidding war expected in the summer with Roma and Juventus also tipped to make bids for the speedy defender.

Atletico are still looking to replace Felipe Luis who was sold to Chelsea last season after their current, Guilherme Siqueira failed to fill the role effectively. Atletico manager, Diego Simeone is reported to be a big fan of Rahman’s all action style; especially his defensive abilities which have seen him become one of the most accurate tacklers in European football this season.

Rahman was featured throughout Ghana’s AFCON campaign in Equatorial Guinea earlier in the year.
