Aduana Stars close in on AshGold after victory in Dormaa

Aduana Stars have closed the gap at the top of the First Capital Plus Premier League after beating leaders Ashantigold at the Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, Elvis Opoku broke the deadlock in the 64th minute to give the home side the three points in the Match day 10 fixture played on Sunday.

Ash Gold’s lead on top of the League log has now been cut short by three points after suffering their second defeat of the season.

Aduana on the other hand now have 19 points after 10 matches into the season.

Meanwhile New Edubiase defeated Berekum Chelsea 2-1 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in their home match played on Sunday.

Nuhu Fuseini took his goal tally to six after scoring the opener for the home team before his twin brother Alhassan added Edubiase’s second goal of the day.

Stephen Baffour also got his sixth goal of the season after he pulled one back for the away team who are now lying 9th on the League table.

The win has taken Edubiase to 12th on the League table.
