Blessings of twins: Bright Addae returns to Ascoli full of confidence

Bright Addae has returned to Italy to focus on the promotion chase with Ascoli Picchio in very confident mood following a 3-day stopover in Ghana to visit his family which welcomed a new set of twins last week.

Addae’s wife, Emilia delivered the couple’s 2nd and third sons on February 25 and even though the footballer was scheduled to only return to Ghana at the end of the season in May, his 4th yellow card received in last week’s league win by Ascoli paved the way for a 4-day leave with the player due to miss today’s game against Luchesse through suspension.

Addae therefore landed in Ghana on Sunday night and spent quality time with his wife and new born twins before returning to answer the call of work.

But not until the U-20 World Cup winner had a renewed confidence in realising the goal of powering Ascoli to gain promotion to Serie B, courtesy the magic of his special new boys.

“I am going back and the only target is to win the league and get Ascoli promoted. Obviously it’s all in the hands of God but if you have God then you have everything,” a buoyant Bright Addae told exclusively at the Kotoka International Airport.

“Visiting my new boys too was special because none of us knew I could come over so soon after their birth but God works in mysterious ways and always have the best plan. I am grateful for the opportunity and I will continue to praise God for their lives,” the defender turned midfielder echoed.

Outdooring of the new members of the Bright Addae family will not take place till the player returns at the end of May when he hopes to have become Lega Pro B champion with good offers on the table as he prepares for life after Parma.

“We are in good position and I have no doubt that we’ll win the league. We have been in first place for over three months now and we are not giving it up,” Addae stated full of poise.

Ascoli meanwhile continue the battle for outright promotion from Lega Pro B with a home fixture later today against Lucchese already boasting a point’s advantage over second placed Teramo who won 5-1 at Cararrese on Saturday. Follow @thedonplato
