Head Coach of the Ghana Under-23 team, Malik Jabir has told Starr FM Sports that he is hoping the Ghana FA will heed to the call of President John Mahama to pay equal attention to all the national football teams.

During his State of the Nation’s Address last Thursday, President Mahama stated that other national teams, including the Black Starlets, the Black Satellites, the Black Meteors, the Black Maidens, the Black Princesses and the Black Queens could win laurels for the nation if given the same attention handed to the Black Stars.

“What he said has finalized everything to my thinking. What he said has covered my Under-23 team and other national teams. He will not come down to do it. Since he has given that order, I hope those in charge will take his word seriously,” Jabir told Starr FM.

Asides the recent Under-20 World Cup winning feat chalked by the Black Satellites in 2009, no other junior national team, including female sides, has managed to impress in international competitions, leading to the Kwesi Nyantakyi led Ghana FA being tagged as a “Black Stars FA”.
