Ghanaian sensational Christian Atsu failed to make Everton’s squad for their game against Stoke in midweek.
Earlier reports claim that the on-loan Chelsea winger will play for the Toffees in their English Premier League match against Stoke City at the Britannia stadium on Wednesday.
But the 23-year-old will again miss out through illness but is expected to return to training on Friday and be ready for next week’s game with Dynamo Kiev at Goodison Park.
Atsu missed Everton’s 3-1 Europa League win over Swiss side Young Boys last week Thursday as well as last Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Arsenal.
The 2015 AFCON best player is seeking to seize a starting place at Everton after struggling to get a position in the team earlier in the season.
His performance in Equatorial Guinea has impelled coach Roberto Martinez to give him more playing time since returning from Africa’s flagship competition.
