Lost hope: Schalke to offload Kevin-Prince Boateng in the summer

German club Schalke 04 are looking to offload Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng at the end of the season, according to German paper Bild.

The 27-year old has cut a frustrated figure all season, with below-par performances, and the club is ready to part ways with him, in a move that outlines their decision to get rid of underperforming high earners at the club.

Boateng who impressed in his first season at Schalke has had a torrid campaign filled with injuries, and has not registered a single goal this season.

He is said to be open to the idea of leaving the German club, with a move back to the Serie A very much on the cards.

The former AC Milan man costs Schalke 8 million euros every year, according to Bild; money they have chosen to save now, given his derailed status as Schalke’s most important player.
