Ghanaian guitarist, composer and producer Ebo Taylor say’s Ghanaian musicians are weak to accept and exploit other people’s music instead of exploiting the Ghanaian high life.

“Our boys have forgotten about the high life and they are into some kind of style they call hip life and it shows how weak we are to accept and exploit other people’s music when we can exploit our own music”.

Ebo Taylor made this assertion when he was speaking after thrilling fans at the just ended Stanbic Bank Ghana Jazz festival held at the Accra International Conference centre February 19 and 20, 2015.

The love and death singer added that, “the country is waking up from its jazz sleep and you need to put in more effort to resuscitate it because, jazz can reshape our highlife, jazz can take us to places and we shall have to start with education.”

He said, “What I’m playing is an extension of highlife so I see no reason why others can’t do the same thing rather than stick to American hip hop which shows we are still colonized”.

“It’s jazz that is influencing music in the world and it will give us the education we need to strengthen the base of our high life”, he added.

Ebo Taylor is currently on a Tour in Brazil, Japan, Cameroon and other parts of the world.
