GN Bank DOL Week Two Review

Action in the GN Bank sponsored national Division One League (DOL) continued over the weekend with some interesting results to report in all three zones.

Zone One

Berekum Arsenal maintained their hundred per cent start to the season with an emphatic 4 – 0 victory over Bolgatanga Manchester City at their favourite Golden City Park. This was their second victory in as many games after their opening day 2 – 0 success away to Galaxy FC.

Man City has three points after they beat Atebubu Esperance 1 – 0 at haome in their fist game of the season.

Arsenal have the maximum six points and sit on top of the ladder level on points with Real Tamale United (RTU) who posted a 5 – 2 home victory over Japekurom Mpuasomah at the Tamale Sports Stadium. In their opening day fixture, RTU scored a 1 – 0 victory over Guan United in a local derby.

Tamale Utrecht drew 2 – 2 with Tamale All Stars in another local derby to add to their opening day 1 – 0 victory over Bolgatanga All Stars at home. They move on to four points from two games, a couple of points behind the joint leaders.

Also on four poits from two games are Berlin FC who beat Techiman City 1 – 0 at home to add to their opening day 0 – 0 draw away to Wa Africa United.

Bofoakwa Tano are also on four points thanks to their 1 – 0 home victory over Amanjande FC at the Coronation Park, Sunyani. In their opening day fixture, they drew goalless with Mpuasomah at Japekurom.

Techiman Unity Stars beat Galaxy FC 1 – 0 at home to move on to four points after they drew goalless with rivals Techiman City on the opening day. Galaxy have lost their opening two games.

In other games played over the weekend, Bolgatanga All Stars drew goalless with Wa African United to record their first point of the season as did Atebubu Esperance who played out a goalless stalemate with Guan United at home.

Zone Two

In Zone Two, Asokwa Deportivo beat Sekondi XI Wise 3 – 0 in their home game at Baba Yara Stadium to record their second win of the campaign. They top the standing with six points after their opening day 3 – 1 away success over Tarkwa United. Wise remain on three points as they won their first game of the season 4 – 1 over Windy Professionals at the Essipong Stadium at Sekondi.

Starke FC posted their first win of this campaign with a comprehensive 4 – 1 home victory over Proud United. They have four points after they drew one all with Samartex FC on match-day one. Proud United has one point thanks to their opening day 0 – 0 stalemate with Karela FC at Kasoa.

Dunkwa United also has four points to show for after they drew goalless with Windy Professionals at Winneba. They beat KFC Samosa 2 – 0 at home in their opening game. Windy Professionals has one point as they lost 1 – 4 to XI Wise on the opening day.

Elmina Sharks beat Wassaman United 1 – 0 at home to move on to four points after they drew two all with Gold Stars at Bibiani in their opening game. Wassaman United has three points thanks to their 2 – 1 success over Cornerstone at Dompem on the opening day.

Also on four points are Karela FC after they defeated Tarkwa United 3 – 2 at home. In their opening day fixture, they drew goalless with Proud United away at Kasoa. Tarkwa United have no points to show for after two games as they lost their opening day fixture 1 – 3 at home to Deportivo FC.

Ebusua Dwarfs beat Gold Stars 2 – 1 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in their first game of the season. Their opening day fixture with King Faisal in Kumasi was called off for lack of security at the venue. Gold Stars has one point as they drew their first game of the season 2 – 2 with Elmina Sharks.

Kumasi Cornerstones beat Samartex FC 2 – 0 at the Baba Yara Stadium for their first points of the campaign as they lost their opening day game at Dompem to Wassaman United. Samatex has one point with their one all opening day stalemate with Starke FC at home.

KFC Samosa and King Faisal drew goalless in the only stalemate of the weekend in this zone leaving both sides on a point each.

Zone Three

Pure Joy FC and D’International have set the early pace in this zone as both has maximun points from two games. Pure Joy posted a close 1 – 0 away victory over Nania FC at the Legon Park to add to their 3 – 0 home victory over Kotoku Royals on the opening day.

D’International scored a 1 – 0 away victory over Danbort FC at Nungua to add to their opening day home win over Sporting Mirren by the same result. Danbort has one point as they drew goalless with King Solomon FC at Kwawu Praso.

Istanbul FC drew 2 – 2 with Sporting Mirren in an away game to add to their 3 – 1 home victory over Mighty Jets on the opening day. They sit on four points on the table with Mirren one one as the lost their match-day one encounter 1 – 0 to D’International.

Dreams FC played out a one all draw with Real Athletico at Tema to maintain their unbeaten run to the campaign. They won their opening day game 2 – 0 over Okwawu United and has four points to show for. Real Athletico has two points as they have drawn their opening two games.

King Solomon FC scored a 1 – 0 away victory over Amidaus FC at Tema and has four points from two games. Amidaus has one point after two games as they lost to Tema Youth by the same result on the opening day.

Okwawu United put their recent troubles behind them to post a slim 1 – 0 victory over Tema Youth at Nkawkaw after they lost 0 – 2 to Dreams FC on the Opening day. They have three points with Tema Youth yet to register a point as they have been ducked the three points they won on the opening day for administrative reasons.

Mighty Jets beat Ho Hot Steal 4 – 0 at Teshie to record their first win of the campaign leaving Hot Steal with no points as they lost their opening day fixture 0 – 1 at home to Nania FC.
