Kwaku Richard, the husband of Agnes Yeboah, the 31-year-old pregnant woman who was busted with over 23 mini bags of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, has also been arrested.
It will be recalled that Agnes was nabbed at her Odomase residence near Sunyani on February 21 during a special operation by the Brong- Ahafo Regional Police Command upon a tip-off, where the police impounded a total of 23-and-half mini bags of compressed dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Upon her arrest, Agnes, who allegedly attempted to bribe the police with an amount of GH¢1,800, claimed that the substances were brought to her by her husband, Kwaku Richard, who is based at Badu near Nsawkaw in the Tain District.
The substances were meant to be distributed to their clients in various parts of the country.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christopher Tawiah, confirmed to DAILY GUIDE over the weekend that Kwaku Richard has also been arrested.
The second suspect, according to the police PRO, was busted on Tuesday, February 24, at his hideout at Badu.
The duo have since been arraigned before court and remanded into lawful custody while police investigations continue.
The couple is believed to have been peddling narcotic drugs in the area for some time, as police investigations have established that the woman was facing a trial at Bechem on the same narcotics but jumped bail when the court granted her bail.
