Thirty-four women undergone skill training in Agona West


Agona Swedru, March 2, GNA – The Business Advisory Center (BAC) has organized training for 34 unemployed women in the Agona West Municipality.

They learnt to make meat pie, sausage, spring roll, cakes, Rockies, bread (all types), polo and other products made from flour.

The training was sponsored by the Agona West Municipal Assembly.

Mr Samuel Oppong, the Agona West Municipal Chief Executive, closing the training said it was government policy to offer skills training to Ghanaians youth, especially women to help reduce poverty.

He said the government alone could not provide white color jobs for all Ghanaians, adding that it was important for women who are not in gainful employment to undergo skill training to enable them establish their own jobs.

Mr Oppong stated that the government would support the private sector being the engine of growth of the national economy.

Mrs Hetty Essandoh, Agona West Municipal Director of Business Advisory Center, said the women would be linked to banks and other financial institutions operating in the area for assistance. ย 

She said the Center would soon organize another skill training in gari processing and Soya beans preparation for another batch of women in the Municipality.

Mrs Essandoh said the Rural Enterprise Fund is ever ready to offer financial assistance to women who have undergone skill training to expand their businesses.
