Kwame Bee, winner of the Best Record Promoter of The Year Award at the just-ended Ghana DJs Awards 2015 and the host of ‘Cruise Control’ on Hitz 103.9FM, has expressed appreciation to his fans and listeners for voting for him.
“I didn’t expect to win though I deserved it, but I am still happy that I won and I thank everyone who voted including my fans, listeners and the organisers, Merqury Republic, for appreciating my works,” he said.
The ‘Cruise Control’ host further indicated, “I have been a promoter of Ghanaian music since I started radio way back as a DJ and show host and to be specific, I love and prefer to promote my Ghanaian musicians.”
According to him, “When I decide to promote a song, I don’t just play the songs submitted by either an underground, growing or an already established artiste; but I make sure I present it to you (my listeners) to hear them first and also play on my show regularly. When it comes to Ghanaian music, no matter who you are, be you an underground or a star; once your song is good, I make sure I play it on my show.”
The Best Record Promoter of the year category included nominees as DJ Mixx, DJ Nature 1, Kofi Afrifa, Sammy Forson and DJ Adviser.
