Killing Of APC Supporters: Rivers PDP Denies Allegation, Calls For Probe

PDP1The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has debunked claims by the Special Adviser, Media, to the Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze that over 30 members of his party had been killed in the state and that the killings were masterminded by the PDP.

The Rivers PDP chairman, Bro Felix Obuah, in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media, Jerry Needam, described the allegation as the height of falsehood and deliberate attempt to denigrate the PDP.

Obuah described the allegation as spurious, mischievous, malicious and a fragmentation of Eze’s evil imaginations, adding that it is part of APC’s sustained effort at causing crisis in the state.

The PDP challenged Mr. Eze and the APC to substantiate their claim by revealing the identities of the purported killed members of the APC, as well as telling the public when and where they were killed.

PDP further challenged the ruling APC in the state to tell the world the names of the Local Government Areas, towns and wards of the over 30 persons claimed to have been killed by its agents.

The statement recalled that in 2013, Eze had similarly made an unsubstantiated claim that police in Rivers State killed 5 innocent children during a Save Rivers Movement rally, at Rumuola.

“Consequently, the PDP is calling on the Inspector General of Police as well as the Rivers State Commissioner of Police to invite Eze Chukwuemeka Eze for questioning so he can tell the world all he knows about the alleged killings”, the statement said.
