Asamoah Gyan’s brace sends Al Ain to the summit of UAE table

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan bagged a brace as Al Ain beat Al Fujirah 3-0 on Saturday in a delayed Arabian Gulf League match.

Gyan’s first was in added on time of the first half when he converted a spot-kick to give the hosts the lead before the break.

The match looked keenly contested until the 71st minute when Abdulaziz Ismail scored an own goal to double Al Ain’s lead.

Gyan then showed up to score the match’s third and a personal second with four minutes remaining.

The goals were Gyan’s first since 18 December, 2014 and since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Al Ain are now top of the table with a three-point lead over second place Al Jazira.
