Tetteh announces 21 for AYC


Accra, Feb. 27, GNA – Black Satellite’s coach, Sellas Tetteh has selected his 21-man squad for the African Youth Championship (AYC), a week to its kick-off in Senegal.

The squad includes Spain-based midfielder Clifford Aboagye, third best player at the last edition of the World Youth Championship in Turkey.

Aboagye who plays for Granada joins a team dominated by local based players with almost half from teams in the First Capital Premier League.

Tetteh named three goalkeepers, seven defenders, eight midfielders and three strikers for the competition that spans March 8-22, in Senegal.

Ghana housed in Group B alongside Zambia, South Africa and Mali is among the eight teams for the tournament scheduled for the cities of Mbour and Dakar.

The Satellites will begin their campaign in Mbour on March 9, against South Africa before taking on Zambia and Mali in the competition that serves as the qualifiers for the World Cup later in the year.
