The Kebbi State Government has warned residents against anything that could breach the peace during, before and after the forthcoming general elections.
Governor Saidu Dakingari gave the warning yesterday when he met with district heads in Fakai Local Government Area of the state.
“I attribute the prevailing peace in the state to the collective efforts of the state government, traditional rulers, religious and community leaders as well as the elders forum”, he said.
The governor also mandated the chairman of Fakai Local Government Council, Alhaji Umaru Magaji Marafa, to submit a proposal to his office for the construction of new palaces for four district heads in the area, construction of five Juma’at mosques, roads, provision of potable water, health care centers and additional schools.
“It is on record that the government has so far constructed 44 new palaces for district heads throughout the four emirates in the state in addition to purchasing 62 brand new cars for their official duties”, Dakingari added.
