We Need Market Sheds—Queenmother Appeals To Assembly


Queenmother of Akyem – Osino in the Fanteakwa south constituency of the Eastern Region, Nana Adoma Agyemang lll, has appealed to the district assembly to put up market structure for hawkers by the roadside to help traders in their activities and by having a place to do their businesses.

According to her, that would go a long way to prevent any disaster as they go on with their day to day activities.

In an exclusive interview with the reporter, Nana Adoma, expressed worry of hardship the hawkers go through as they sell by the roadside and appealed to the assembly to come to their aid since the hawkers pay tolls which contributes to the assembly’s internally generated fund.

She also urged parents to have time for their children by giving them the necessary education and training that would mold them in the near future. He cautioned parents to also visits their wards at school instead of leaving them to the care of school authorities alone.

“I am worried to say that mining activities in the area is affecting education as most young girls are enticed with money which later leads to teenage pregnancy and school dropouts” Nana added.

She, however, pledged to do her best to promote girl-child education and also reduce the rate of teenage pregnancy among students and the youth.

Nana Adoma Agyemang lll therefore appealed to the police service to strengthen security in the area due to petty crimes being recorded the past months.

She called on all citizens both home and abroad to come and support the development agenda of the community.
