AL KHARTOUM coach Kwesi Appiah is targeting an early goal in Sunday’s Confederation Cup preliminary round return leg against Power Dynamos.

Appiah said the Sudanese outfit will play an open game.

“We will play to win on their land and in front of their fans. We will not defend in the game, as this will not be an easy match. Power are a very good team especially in their land and I am sure they will do their best to win,” Appiah told FilGoal.

“We will try to score there early and hope that will make our mission easy.”

The 54-year-old, however, warned his charges against complacency at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

“We have done our homework and what is remaining is for the players to execute it on the pitch. It is going to be a difficult game because Power will also not want to lose at home,” he said.

Power, who lost 0-1 in Khartoum, need to win by two unanswered goals to cruise to the first round.

And in an interview on arrival at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola yesterday, Appiah said the return leg will be tough.

“Actually once I play a game I always put it behind me. I normally don’t look at the scoreline. This is a new ball game altogether. As you all know, Power Dynamos is a big name when it comes to football in Africa.

“And apart from that they played well in the first leg, so it is not going to be an easy game. We will really do our best to give them a good game over here,” the former Ghana coach said.

Al Khartoum are accommodated at Moba Hotel in Kitwe.
