Uncle Gem Creatives Supports Kayayei

 Mr Gem O. Jnr
The CEO of Uncle Gem Creatives, Mr Gem O. Jnr,  has volunteered to design five different websites for head potters, popularly known as kayayei, to help promote their future and welfare.

He will design websites for the Pamela Bridgewater Project (www.kvolugh.com), Sheikh Zayed Children’s Village at Kumbungu (www.sheikhzchildrenvillage.com), Swiss Children’s Home at Balahi (www.swisschome.com), Qatar 2022 (World Cup) Girls Village Project at Tampion (www.q2022girlsvillage.com); and the Ataturk Girls Institute at Fu (www.ataturkinstitute.com) all in Northern Ghana.

These are all projects of the Kunata Voluntary Organization, which uses sports to provide purposeful safe educational haven for needy girls and help stem the movement of girls, especially of school-going age, from the northern parts of Ghana to the south in search of non-existence jobs.

In an interview, Mr Gem appealed to the government to come out with a national action plan for tackling the issue of kayayei, which was too big for an NGO to tackle without the support of government.
