Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Ben Ephson says the Mahama–led administration risks losing the 2016 general elections if the power crisis persists.

According to him, it would be difficult for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to retain power in 2016 if the situation remains the same till July next year.

The pollster described the development as an advantage to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to make political capital out of government’s failure to address the energy crisis.

Mr. Ephson opined that, “If the NDC does not fix energy crisis by July next year, it will give the NPP a big advantage and the NDC would be disadvantage,” he revealed on Okay FM’s Morning show on Wednesday.

The country at the moment is suffering from an intense load-shedding which has collapsed some Industries.

But Power Minister, Kwabena Donkor is confident the power crisis would be resolved by the end of 2015 given the prudent initiatives being implemented by government.
