GPL: Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea share the spoils


Berekum Chelsea fought from a goal down to draw level against Kumasi Asante Kotoko on match day 9 of the First Capital Plus Premier League on Wednesday at the Berekum Coronation Park.

Both goals came in the last 10 minutes of the 90 minutes of duration time: Ahmed Toure scored for Kotoko, while Bennett Ofori got the equalizer for the home team.

The first half failed to produce any goal despite impressive performance from either side.

Although, Berekum Chelsea were the better side in the second half of the game, it was Ahmed Toure, who fired the Porcupine Warriors into the lead in the 81 minute to break his goal drought, after he score against B.A United on match day 4.

The 2011 league champions responded quickly, when Bennett Ofori fetched them the equalizer in the 86 minute.

The First Capital Plus Premier League will take a break this weekend to give way for Hearts of Oak to travel to Benin for the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup against AS Police.

However, it will continue on 7th March, with Asante Kotoko returning to Kumasi to take on Medeama, while Berekum Chelsea will make a trip to Obuasi to face New Edubiase.
