Board member of Accra Great Olympics, Fred Pappoe, has backed veteran goalkeeper Richard Kingston to prove he can still play at the highest level when he is cleared to start playing for the Premier League club.
The former Black Stars goalkeeper signed a one year deal with Olympics and is waiting for his ITC from Turkey which will clear him to start work with his boyhood club.
And Fred Pappoe wants the former Wigan and Blackpool shot stopper to prove to Ghanaians that he has a lot more to offer.
“I dont need to tell anybody anything (about Richard Kingston),” Pappoe told Joy FM.
“I believe when Richard Kingston starts doing the job, his performance will speak for itself; because if you look at the the just ended nations Cup tournament(in Equatorial Guinea), we had goalkeepers like Ovono of Gabon, Boubakar Barry (of Cote d’Ivoire) who actually snatched the victory from our hands.
“Apart from the two, there were other goalkeepers who were keeping at the time Richard Kingston was keeping, so Richard Kingston is on a crusade on itself to tell Ghanaians that he is not over the hills yet.
“So I’m sure and know for sure that once he starts keeping the post or manning the post, Ghanaians will see him for who he is.”
