For bigger, better TV experience: Multi TV launches Joy Prime

You’re probably used to the saying, “the bigger the better”, but believe it or not, COMPACT is the new big thing!

This is because MultiTV is preparing to give its viewers a compact and thoroughly exciting gift that will change their television viewing experience for ever.

From March 1, 2015, MultiTV, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group Limited, will consolidate its time tested channels. The six known channels, Joy TV, Cine Afrik, 4Kids, Joy News, Adom TV and Joy Sports, will now give way to an exciting 3 – Joy Prime, Joy News and Adom TV.

The consolidation according to the company is to “make the channels more fun to watch and cut down on repeats. We want to make our channels more compact to deliver a more exciting viewing experience.”

Appearing at a time when television channels were solely analogue, the Multimedia Group’s free-to-air digital satellite station has held its own against competition from the other free-to-air analogue TV stations.

Coming from a parent company whose track record was with establishing 6 major radio brands and a huge online presence, many did not think the Multimedia Group will be successful in television. Against all odds, MultiTV has proved skeptics wrong. From a few hundred Digiboxes 6 years ago, MultiTV has grown in leaps and bounds with close to 2 million Digiboxes in Ghana paving the way for digital free to air television in Ghana.

The 3 exciting channels, Adom TV, Joy News and Joy Prime will provide compelling content targeted at specific targets.

The now improved Adom TV will continue its programming primarily in Akan and other local languages. The channel will also have a completely new look with quality programming.

The all news channel, Joy News also comes revitalized with in-depth documentaries, sports analysis and discussion programmes that will you keep you up to date with events happening in Ghana and beyond. And typical of the Multimedia Group’s track record in news delivery, expect the Joy News channel to give you more breaking news as well as other compelling news stories.

The family channel, Joy Prime will be a consolidation of Joy TV, Cine Afrik, 4Kids and live European soccer action.

Joy Prime thus becomes the go-to channel for great entertainment that will leave you at the edge of your seat. Its programming will cut across African movies through to telenovelas from South America, Asia & Africa, foreign movies, reality shows, Award winning drama foreign series, lifestyle shows, children’s programmes and live European soccer action.

The timing for the “new phase” of MultiTV can best be described as coincidental as the parent company Multimedia Group celebrates its 20 years of operation this year.

Managers of the station assure viewers their favorite programmes on the other channels that will be absorbed into Joy Prime will not be affected. They are also promising quality and efficient programming as well as exclusive content.

MultiTV is a free to air digital satellite television station operating from Kokomlemle in Accra and is available to viewers across Africa and the world via its live streaming on www.myjoyonline.com

The Multimedia Group Limited operates six radio stations – Joy FM, Adom FM, Asempa FM and Hitz FM all in Accra as well as Luv FM and Nhyira FM in Kumasi – online platforms – myjoyonline.com and adomfmonline.com and one TV station- MultiTV.
