Ghana defender Akaminko to miss Eskisehirspor’s clash with Besiktas in Turkey tonight


Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko will miss his Turkish side Eski?ehirspor’s crucial clash with giants Besiktas in the Turkish Super League on Sunday because of a fresh injury setback, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Akaminko, the hardworking and reliable centre-back, could not train with his club on Saturday, few hours before the match to be played at the Eski?ehir Atatürk on at 17:00 (GMT).

The Ghana international looks to have suffered the setback while training with the club which has come as a serious setback for Eski?ehirspor.

Akaminko had only just recovered from the injury that kept him out of last year’s World Cup and is building strongly to return to the national team.

The exact nature of the injury is not known but officials of his club have confirmed the injury to Ghana’s leading football news website and said his absence is a blow for them in their 57th clash with Besiktas.

Of the 57 games played between the two sides, Besiktas have won 28 while Eski?ehirspor have recorded 17 victories.

Besiktas have found the back of the net 73 times while Eski?ehirspor have scored 47 times.
