Sfortuna: Boakye Yiadom and Atalanta fall at Juventus

It was a night of hard luck for Richmond Boakye and current side, Atalanta at the Juventus Stadium against his parent club in Serie A action on Friday.

The Ghanaian striker shared by both Italian clubs who own a 50% share each in his rights, started off the bench for Atalanta and was only brought on after 70 minutes to help salvage what would turn out to be a defeat against the 3-time defending champions and league leaders.

Atalanta suffer their 5th defeat in the last 6 Serie A games after failing to hold on to 33 year old Giulio Migliaccio’s 25th minute strike, succumbing to a Juventus equaliser through Fernando Llorente in the 39th minute before Andrea Pirlo sealed what will turn out to be the winner on the stroke of full time.

The victory pushed Juventus’ advantage atop the Serie A standings to 10 points ahead of the weekend’s round of matches whilst Atalanta remain just a place and three points above the relegation zone on a mere 23 points from 24 games.

Boakye Yiadom for whom one of the two clubs would have to splash the cash in the summer to sign him on their books permanently per Italian law, was adamant the defeat was an unlucky one against a very good team.

“They are one of the biggest teams we’ve played but we still did our best in a bid to draw but in the end, they had a better game and went home with victory,” Boakye Yiadom told Allsports.com.gh exclusively after the game.

He added on the debate over where his future lies, Juventus or Atalanta?: “I’m looking to score more goals before the end of the season. It’s a bit too early to talk about what will happen next season.” Follow @thedonplato
