Heart of Lions will play as host to Hearts of Oak on match day 8 of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League on Sunday at the Kpando sports stadium. This season Hearts of Oak won their first game in the season against WAFA at the Kpando sports stadium due to a home match ban imposed on the capital based club.
Heart of Lions in the ongoing season are yet to lose a game at home with the Phobians winning only one away game in their 3 games as Heart of Lions last home game, the Kpnado based club drew goalless with Inter Allies.
On match day 7, Heart of Lions beat Wa Allstars 1-0 in Wa whilst Hearts of Oak lost 1-2 at home to New Edubiase and on the log sheet, Lions are on the 5th position with 11 points with Hearts of Oak currently placed 12th with 8 points.
Hearts of Oak will be missing the services of six players – Emmanuel Hayford, Keneth Okoro and Vincent Atinga are all on the club’s injury list, Owusu Bempah, Seidu Mutawakilu and Eric Kumi are in the Black Satellites (U 20) camp preparing for the AYC championship scheduled to kick off on the 8th March, 2015 in Senegal, Heart of Lions will also missed their young goalkeeper, Kwame Baah to the Black Satellites.

Since Heart of Lions’ promotion into the Ghana premier league in 2003, they have played Hearts of Oak 22 times, The Kpando based club have won 6, lost 11 and drawn 5, 53 goals have been scored in these fixtures, with Hearts of Oak leading the park with 33 goals as against 25 goals.
The last time the two teams met at Kpnado was in the first round of the 2013/14 league season were the game ended 1-1.
