Injury blow: Van Persie leaves Liberty Stadium in protective boot

The defeat against Swansea City was not the only concern for Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal as his striker Robin van Persie left the Liberby Stadium in Wales injured.

The Dutchman who started the game for Manchester United left the Liberty Stadium on crutches with his injured right leg in a protective boot.

This comes as a huge blow for Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal with Van Persie set for the sidelines due to the injury.

The manager has come under scrutiny for the way Manchester United are playing as the race for a place in the UEFA Champions League heats up. The manager has already not had the best [or even average] performance from Radamel Falcao who is on a season long loan at the club.

Manchester United were handed a 2-1 defeat in their English Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City recorded their first ever double over the Old Trafford club in a season.
