Hearts Group Prayer

Despite their uninspiring victory against AS Police of Benin in the Confederation Cup last Sunday, Accra Hearts of Oak would hope to build upon that performance when they storm the Kpando Park to play Heart of Lions.

It promises to be an uncomfortable terrain for the Phobians as the Kpando Park has often been a hostile environment for them.

But their solace now is the return of their arrowhead, Gilbert Fiamenyo, who would be returning to Kpando to battle his former club, Heart of Lions. Fiamenyo is familiar with the Kpando park and his current form could help boost the chances of his club.

Definitely, his return could prove crucial to Hearts of Oak’s fortunes after his five goals in his last six games this season sits him on the summit of the goal scorers’ chart.

Nonetheless, he may not have it easy as Lions’ defensive set-up likely to be marshaled around John Tuffour, Asiama Badu and Michael Annang are ready to halt his goal scoring run in this dicey duel expected to draw huge following to the Kpando Park.

And this appears to be Coach Herbert Addo’s major headache knowing his striker’s devastating form could attract the Lions defence monitoring him throughout, and must come up with a different strategy to render any ploy ineffective.

Possibly, he could use Selassi Adjei as the decoy while Shawn October will be relied upon to send in the crosses for Fiamenyo to bang in the goals.

But the Lions camp, led by Coach Abubakar Yussif, might be conversant with the Hearts team and their strategies, making it easier to design new plans to ensure their home invincibility is guarded.

At the other centres, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will host WAFA at the Baba Yara Stadium, while Liberty Professionals will test the fire power of Berekum Chelsea at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman tomorrow.

New Edubiase welcome AshGold to the Bekwai Park, Wa All Stars will travel to Dormaa-Ahenkro to battle Aduana Stars, so will Inter-Allies travel to Sekondi to play Hasaacas. Bechem host Medeama at the Bechem Park, while Olympics welcome BA United to the Accra Sports Stadium.
