Beach Soccer Players Do Not Receive Per Diem—Ampofo Ankrah

President of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association (GBSA) Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has said that national team players under his association do not receive per diem’s anytime they go out to represent the nation in international tournaments.

Speaking to www.sports24gh.com at a press briefing at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah said, “Unlike other national teams who get per diem’s anytime they represent the nation players of beach soccer do not receive such benefits.”

“Our total budget from our sponsor, CAL Bank is GHC 44,000.00 and it is out of this money that we run the beach soccer league so we are always cash trapped in a sense so we are appealing to corporate Ghana to come to aid.”

According to Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah the Black Sharks have qualified to represent Ghana in an international competition in South Africa, but there seems to be no hope getting funds from government to help the association to carry out all this important assignment.
