Former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Jarvis Peprah says he would not have considered David Duncan for the coaching job if he was still the club’s boss.

He told Kumasi-Angel FM that Duncan has, from his previous comments about the club, has shown that he has an intense dislike for the Porcupine Warriors.

“The truth is that Duncan hates Asante Kotoko. When he was in charge of Ashanti Gold and other clubs, some of the comments he made about Asante Kotoko were inflammatory. So If I was still the club’s CEO, I would never have sanctioned such a move for Duncan because he has always wished Kotoko’s downfall.”

Peprah also told Angel FM that if Duncan could complain about the fact that too many Kotoko players were being selected for the Black Stars at the expense of other clubs, then the coach does not have Kotoko’s interests at heart.

“You remember that he complained about Asante Kotoko being favoured with respect to players being selected to the national teams and even the appointment of coaches, with respect to Maxwell Konadu and Kwesi Appiah.

He spoke with bitterness and his comments almost put Konadu’s life at risk. I met him once and I drew his attention to what he was doing.”

Duncan is expected to put pen to paper in a week’s time to succeed Mas-Ud Dramani as head coach of Asante Kotoko.
