Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ghanaian teenager Godfred Donsah, Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal.
The 18-year-old, who has made seven first-team appearances this season for Cagliari in the Serie A scoring twice, has been dubbed ‘the new Michael Essien’ because of his combativeness in midfield.
Reports reaching Goal say Spurs have moved to do business, with negotiations expected to take place within this week ahead of a summer move.
Arsenal, Bayer Munich, Ajax, West Ham and Stoke City have been scouting the Ghanaian and were strongly linked with him, but Tottenham are in a pole position to attract Donsah.
Donsah is very strong on the field and has good passing ability which could help him move into the first-team at White Harte Lane.
