NPP MPs Abandon Parliamentary Business For ‘WonnGbo’ Demonstration


Some members of the Minority in Parliament on Wednesday abandoned the House to join the ongoing “won gbo” demonstration, Atinka FM’s Parliamentary correspondent, Bernard Quanson reports.

The Minority side of the House was virtually empty as at 10: 50 this morning.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa Central, Kwaku Agyeman Manu informed the House that, many of his colleagues were not in the House because they had joined the “won gbo” demonstration, which is being organized by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The speaker, Rt Hon Doe Adjaho also informed the House that the leadership of the Minority sought permission to be absent from today’s siting in order to take part in the demonstration.

The largest opposition party in the country is protesting against the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) over its poor handling of the energy crisis.
