Lucrative deal: Division One League gets US$2.1m sponsorship deal


The financial burden of the Division One league will be lessened after The Ghana Football Association secured a US$ 2.1 million sponsorship deal for three years with indigenous bank GN Bank as the headline sponsor for the second-tier Division One League.

Owned by one of Ghana’s most prominent politicians and businessmen, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, GN Bank is part of a group of companies aimed at lifting the image of the country’s national assets.

The unveiling of the lucrative deal for the league was done on Wednesday morning.

This year’s Division one League will have three Zones made up of 16 clubs with three winners of each zone qualifying automatically into the Ghana Premier League.
