Incumbent Assemblyman appeals for retention

Adamorobe (E/R), Feb. 18, GNA – Mr Joseph Okyere, the Assemblyman for Adamorobeasi Electoral Area, has appealed to chiefs and the people to retain him to continue with the provision of development projects.

Mr Okyere said this when he presented a report of his four-year term in office as assembly member for Adamorobe near Aburi in the Akuapem South District.

He said during his administration electricity was extended to many places including street lights, reshaped feeder roads, introduced non-formal education and maintained public places of convenience.

‘Through my effort a bridge has been constructed over River Ayisi,’ he said adding that the most serious challenge facing the people was the bad nature of the major road from Oyibi to Aburi.

He said the Assembly, in collaboration with the Dutch Link International, has pooled resources to complete the 30-seater toilet facility which was stalled due to lack of funds.

Mr Okyere said some families in the area have offered land for the provision of market, police station, and Police post, a football park, ICT centre and lorry station.

He appealed to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to resolve the political boundary demarcation issue between Kpone-Katamanso District Assembly and the Akuapem South District Assembly.
