Aspiring assembly member for Abaase electoral area at Akyem Old Tafo of the eastern region, Michael Boateng, has thrown a challenge to voters to elect credible and educated people to represent the people at the assembly.
He said it is such crop of people who can lobby and appeal for development projects in their various electoral areas.
Speaking to this reporter, Mr. Boateng said it is now time for members to go beyond the assembly’s support and lobby for developmental projects from other areas such as corporate bodies and non-governmental organisations.
He also appealed to government to set up a fund that will support the activities of assembly members in order to help them function effectively.
He said most assembly members have lots of good ambition for their people of which the problem has been financial support.
The aspiring member stated his intention to join hands with NGOs to help the youth with skills training in order to create employment for the growing unemployed youth within the electoral area.
He also revealed his intention to organise extra classes for final year junior high students in the community to prepare them well ahead of their final exams.
Mr. Boateng however called on the people to vote for him since he posses the needed qualities to lead the community and also advised the people not to vote on party or family lines but rather vote for him for the needed development.
He therefore urged the youth to support his vision as most of his policies would go a long way to improve their living standards.
As a professional teacher, he advised students to take seriousness and advised them to shun from social vices that could shut down their dreams.
