Suspected Cultists Kill 2 In Ilorin

Five members of a suspected cult group in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital has killed two people, reports have said.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, one of the victims, Mallam Abu, was killed around Tupex Mini Mart area of Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Ilorin, while the other victim was killed by same cultists at Gambari area.

An eyewitness told the Nigerian Tribune that the assailants, numbering about five, came on a motorcycle to Mallam Abu’s residence at about 8.00 p.m, shot sporadically into the air, before dragging Abu out and killing him with a matchete.

The assailants were said to have ensured their victim died before leaving the scene on their motorcycle. They reportedly killed another man at Gambari area on the same night.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kwara State command, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the killings. He said the State Command had commenced investigations.
