Ghana FA Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Darra has rubbished claims that government is preparing to hand each Black Stars player and management member a Cherokee Jeep.
Media reports say the vehicles will be given to the team for achieving a silver medal feat at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
“Absolutely false. Nothing like that was told to the team and no one from government has informed us of this. This can’t continue. Those who bring you such stories must stand up to them,” Mr. Sannie Darra said.
It will be recalled that the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the sponsor of the Black Stars, promised to reward players of the team with $25,000 each for their performance at the AFCON 2015 but government did not announce any reward package.
