No money: Okwawu United withdraw from Elite Cup competition

Division One club, Okwahu United has withdrawn from this year’s Elite Cup competition.

The Eastern Region based club sent a letter to the Ghana Football Association to confirm their withdrawal due to financial problems. 

Okwahu United were scheduled to host Inter Allies at Nkawkaw in the preliminary round, but after dissolving their board, with the reason that they lack support from Patrons of the club, they withdrew from the Elite Cup competition.

This means  Inter Allies qualifies automatically into the group stages of the newly created competition.
