President of the PGA Ghana, Bliss Ayivor said about 17 amateurs applied to join the association but after taking them through the various sessions for the qualification, only five passed.
He said every year, the PGA organizes a two-day qualifying School (Q-School) to admit aspiring professional golfers into the Association.
He explained that the Q-School culminates their apprenticeship period during which activities including playability and knowledge of other aspects of Golf comprising the Rules of Golf, Etiquette, history of the PGA worldwide and that of Ghana come to play.
He said that those who did not qualify will be put on standby and taught how to improve their weakness and areas as they concentrate to qualifying next year.
