Accra, Feb.17, GNA – Kwame Ligbidi champion of the MTN CEO’s Invitational golf tournament and four amateur golfers are set to join the Professional Golfers Association (PGA), after a two-day qualifying school at the Damang Golf Club in the Western Region.

The rest of the qualifiers, Owusu Bonsu, Kronzu Kwame., Joseph Klah, and Amponsah Prince Quaning went through a series of tests to join the Association

President of the PGA Ghana, Bliss Ayivor said about 17 amateurs applied to join the association but after taking them through the various sessions for the qualification, only five passed.

He said every year, the PGA organizes a two-day qualifying School (Q-School) to admit aspiring professional golfers into the Association.

He explained that the Q-School culminates their apprenticeship period during which activities including playability and knowledge of other aspects of Golf comprising the Rules of Golf, Etiquette, history of the PGA worldwide and that of Ghana come to play.

He said that those who did not qualify will be put on standby and taught how to improve their weakness and areas as they concentrate to qualifying next year.
