Businessman, Kennedy Agyapong (Kenpong) is under investigation by the Airport Police in Accra for allegedly threatening to kill a worker of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

The threat, according to Edward Arhimase, was issued by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kenpong Travel and Tours on phone after he disconnected electricity to his office.

The ECG officer exclusively told Adom News that the sports enthusiasts and sponsor personally called him on phone and threatened to ‘behead’ him anytime he meets him.

According to him, upon noticing that Kenpong’s office owned the power distributing company for close to five months, he decided to disconnect the light to the office.

He said the decision was arrived at after waiting for close to forty-five minutes when the accountant failed to produce receipts of electricity payments made by the company during the period.

“After disconnecting the lights, I received a call around 6:00 PM, the voice identified himself as Kenpong…he threatened that he will make sure he would kill me anytime he sees me for daring to disconnect light at his office…,” he said.

Mr. Arhimase continued that his boss at the office also confirmed receiving the same threat from Kenpong on his phone.

Scared by the threats from the business guru, Edward Arhimase said he proceeded to file a complaint with the Airport Police, which has since commenced investigations into it.  A spokesperson for the business guru, Kofi Poku however denied that his boss has issued such threats.

“It is not true, it is not true and even if it is true why would anybody threaten you, in a company like Kenpong group, how much at all would the bill be….?” He quizzed.

To him, the cost of electricity is far less than the about Ghc70,000 that the company spent in sponsoring people to the AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

Kofi Poku further welcomed the police investigations, claiming that the ECG worker is lying.
