Godfred Donsah has spoken about his rocket strike that put Cagliari ahead away to Torino in Serie A on Sunday and is urging his teammates to quickly put the disappoinment of not holding on for all three points behind them and shift focus to the next league game against Roberto Mancini’s Inter Milan.
Donsah struck an incredible one-time bullet shot from the edge of the Torino penalty box to give his side the advantage in Sunday’s Italian top flight match day 23 game at the Olympic Stadium in Turin, a strike which rightly won Allsports.com.gh ‘s player of the week gong.
“I tried, it went well,” Donsah told Cagliari’s official website about his goal.
“We knew we had to work and run 90 minutes to get a good result against a team like Torino. We worked at best, and won an important point, but obviously three points would have been better,” the 18 year old Ghanaian youngster added.
1-1 it finished after Torino equalised within a minute of falling behind to leave Giafranco Zola’s side still sitting in the Serie A relegation zone with the game against giants, Inter Milan on the horizon.
But claiming victory will be crucial to Cagliari’s push to avoid the drop and Donsah who has now established a regular first team place, believes Cagliari can nick a big win against the Nerazzuri come Monday night.
“Now we are thinking about the match with Inter, we will be even more focused and run even more than today (against Torino),” Godfred Donsah vowed. Follow @thedonplato
