President Mahama appoints new Chief of Staff


Accra, Feb 16, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr Julius Debrah,   Minister of Local Government and Rural Development,   as his new Chief of Staff.

He takes over from Mr Prosper Douglas Bani, who will be appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary.

A statement signed by Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Communications, also announced the re-assignment of Mr William K. Aboah, as an Adviser responsible for the restructuring of NACOB into a Commission.

The statement said he will also assume the Chairmanship of the NACOB when the Board is constituted.

According to the statement, Baba Issifu Kamara, a Senior Adviser for Special Duties is the new National Security Adviser, while Deputy Minister of Works and Housing, Johnny Osei Kofi, also moves to the Flagstaff House as a Deputy Chief of Staff.

The statement noted the President’s appreciation for the work carried out by all the officials who have exited, and expressed confidence in the capabilities and experience of the new appointees.

The President expects the new appointees to be committed to the task of managing the affairs of the Office of the President in order to realize his vision for the economic transformation of Ghana, the statement added
