Black Stars Management Committee Chairman George Afriyie has labelled inspirational Captain Asamoah Gyan as a wonderful Character, who will always put the interest of the National team at heart.
The Ghanaian Talisman, who has won the heart of many with his goal scoring prowess, is regarded by pundits as one of the best strikers to have emerged from the West African Country.
The Stars inspirational Captain though sustained a nasty challenged against Naby Yattara in the Quarter-Finals during the 2015 AFCON returned to the team’s fold in the finals to play a key role for Ghana.
However, Gyan’s decision not to take penalties has not gone down well with critics who have even questioned his loyalty to the Black Stars.
But Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee Gorge Afriyie says, Gyan is a wonderful Character, who always put the interest of the National team at heart.
“I have not seen such a character, he is a wonderful character, and I am pleased to have worked with him, not all players are like that, but we have to appreciate what he has done for us”.
“He made a promise he was not going to play penalties because of what happened let us accept and respect his decisions as simple as that”.
