Valentine’s Day ecstasy diminishes in Sunyani Municipality

Sunyani, Feb 13, GNA – The ecstasy that accompanies Valentine’s Day, has diminished in the Sunyani Municipality, a market survey conducted by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday revealed.

Valentine’s Day, which falls in February 14 every year, is a festival of romantic love and many people give cards, letters, flowers or presents to their spouse or partners.

According to traders selling Valentine Day gifts and items at the Sunyani Central Business District, sales are very poor.

They sell teddy bear, flowers, cards, perfumes, chocolates, hampers, red panties, and others.

‘Business has slowed down drastically. Last year business was very good and we don’t know what is happening now’, Madam Emelia Ofori, a dealer in teddy bears, told the GNA.

Another trader who spoke on condition of anonymity said ‘customers don’t even come to ask the prices of our items. I have not sold anything since I came here this morning’.
