Room for improvement: My team is not ready for trophies – Herbert Addo

Accra Hearts of Oak gaffer, Herbert Addo has admitted that his team is not ready to win trophies both on the local front and on the continent but he was optimistic his team will be ready to win trophies in the future.

“My current team is not a cup winning team which means that the team is not ready to win trophies but hopefully we will get there in the future,’ Herbert Addo said.

The capital based club in 6 seasons is yet to win a major silver ware; the closet they came was 2 seasons ago when they lost their MTN FA cup semi-final game to Medeama SC.

Hearts of Oak is currently not faring well in the ongoing league. In their last seven games played this season they have won 2, lost 3 and drawn 2.

But Herbert Addo who couldn’t take the pressure from the club supporters lashed out at the capital based club fans in one of his post-match interview by stating that the criticism from the fans are illogical.

‘I become sad any time I hear the fans of Hearts criticize me in an illogical manner and some even go to the extent of insulting me using words like useless, nonsense outmoded, etc.

‘They come to the training ground and ask unnecessary questions like why Romeo Abban wasn’t selected for games; meanwhile he had left the team then,’ he noted.

‘It is rather unfortunate that most of these fans jump walls, without paying for matches; at the moment I am ready for them, whoever asks a stupid question will get a stupid reply from me,’ Herbert Addo said angrily.
