Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has passionately begged on behalf of the Sports Minister for raining insults on journalists who are demanding accountability for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Mahama Ayariga yesterday blasted Ghanaian journalists for demanding details of the budget for the just ended 2015 AFCON.
The minister claimed on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Morning Show Thursday that journalists are asking “useless questions” regarding the budget used by the Government and the Sports Ministry in preparing for and taking part in in the just ended 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea, where Ghana placed second.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Friday, Mr. Akomea apologized on behalf of Mahama Ayariga, “because I know that Ayariga is not those people with sharp teeth and so I apologized on his behalf.
“I know him and I believe he will come back to apologize, he is not a person noted for such words and so I was very surprised when I heard him talking to you in that manner. And so Ayariga is very sorry,” he said.
