A lot of excitement awaits music fans as ‘Alomo Sankwan’, Ghana’s biggest weekend party event brings out tthe crème de la crème of Ghana’s music industry to party on Sunday, February 15.
The ‘Alomo Sankwan’ train is a weekend soup-eating campaign being organised by Strategic Communications and supported by Kasapreko Company Limited, producers of Kasapreko Alomo Bitters to entertain and interact with consumers.
The campaign was derived from the local Akan dialect ‘Sankwan’ which means taking in or eating soup and it has already gathered a huge following in major parts of the country.
What usually happens is the ‘Sankwan’ team makes a stop at particular local eateries, ‘chop bars’ and restaurants in cities where customers are treated to entertaining experiences. Already the event has stopped in towns like Koforidua, Takoradi, Kumasi and others.
The climax of the first phase of the train, which has made stops at 20 pubs so far, will come off at the Achimota Jerusalem Pub. The ‘Alomo Sankwan’ train kicked off in September 2014.
There will be exciting live performances by artistes; Kwesi Pee, Wutah Kobby, Jupiter, Double, Akwaboah, Nero X and Kwame Zaggy. Patrons will also be treated to comedy performances from DKB and The Two Idiots among others.
Eugene Ntreh, Brands Manager at Kasapreko, speaking in an interview with Myjoyonline.com said the concept behind the train was to give back to consumers.
“It was a way of letting our consumers know that it’s not just enjoying the uniqueness of our product but it is also a way of bringing them together and in some cases bring them their favourite artistes whom they’ve only heard on radio,” to have fun, he said.
